I understand this challenge and help organizations and individuals by using an applied approach to the experience of learning. Through collaboration with the client Swan Learning Services can provide practical and meaningful learning experiences. My goal is to ensure that you have the tools to take what you have learned and apply it immediately to your work and/or personal life. I want to work in partnership with you to provide the best learning experience within the context of resources you have available.

Have you ever watched a swan walk when it’s out of the water? Its gait is unsteady and each step is a deliberate act to move to where it belongs. The journey on the shoreline is arduous. Then, when the swan eases itself into the water, it moves with grace; because this is where it belongs. It is here in the water when it is in its spirit of freedom and grace; and it is here where we see its beauty, its dignity, and its fullness. The poet, Maria Ranier Rilke, in his poem The Swan presents the image of the swan moving clumsily on the ground only to move toward the elemental water, where it belongs. It is the simple contact with the water that gives the swan grace and presence. I created Swan Learning Services to assist you in moving to where you belong and therefore, help you “realize your greatest potential”. Swan Learning Services works specifically with middle managers and supervisors. These are the leaders that daily find themselves on the shoreline struggling to get to the water. They don’t have the luxury of time. Often they meet resistance and find themselves reluctant to take the next step because they do not have the skill or competence to move forward. My work is to help them develop the skills they need so they can perform the managerial functions effectively. My training model provides support for the learner so that he/she can immediately meet with success with direct application on the job. |
